SECONDARY SPORTS WEEK

Thursday 6th October 2015

Mrs Granzotto from « Comité Régional Handisport » came in school to talk with IB students about Sport and Disability.

In the morning, she presented the different disabilities and she discussed with students.

In the afternoon, some disable basketball player from Toulouse Iron Club (www.toulouseic.fr) came in order to have practical lessons in wheelchairs with the students.

This activity was much appreciated by the students and allowed them to have a knowledge on disability.

During this day, they realized that it is possible to live normally and to take part in sport while being a disable person.

Thursday 6th October & Wednesday 07th October 2015

A Rock Climbing wall was settled in the primary playground to allow our secondary students to practise climbing activity.

Muscular endurance, strength, will and self-confidence were developed through this physical activity.

Well done for all of the students for their participation even if sometimes it was difficult to overcome the fear of the height.

Friday 09th October 2015

The sports week ended with our traditional Sports Day.

Six activities were planned for all day:

Running

Badminton

Basketball

Athletics

Rugby

Football.

With a beautiful sunny day, the students took part on these activities with enthusiasm and motivation.

Well done for everybody and especially for the red house, the winners of this event.

During September & October 2015

Two Year 11 students, Aidan Everett and Ethan Paige organised a IST Rugby world cup for secondary students in the context of their GCSE P.E assessment.

This event was split in two tournaments: one for Year 7 to 9 and one for Year 10 to 13. For both tournaments, France was the winner and each winner student received a ticket to go and watch a match between Stade Toulousain and Grenoble in November.

Well done for all the players and congratulations to Aidan and Ethan for their excellent organization !
